The Senior Security Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing robust security measures that not only protect the organization's digital assets but also align with and support the achievement of business goals. Maintains complex security controls, systems, tools, and services in accordance with best practices to protect from cyber threats. Leads team initiatives while simultaneously collaborating with others in multiple IT and security project implementations. Has an advanced knowledge in cybersecurity concepts, frameworks, practices, and procedures and can jump in when needed for escalated incident response. Considers the current and future information security risk environment and brings enterprise level perspective to the design and implementation of security solutions.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Contributes to the planning, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s information security strategy.
Identifies potential security risks and vulnerabilities and develops strategies to mitigate those risks.
Takes a lead role to scope, design, test and deploy the most complex security software, tools, and services including cloud security, vulnerability management, email security, security information and event monitoring (SIEM) tools, and endpoint protection.
Stays up to date with emerging threats and technologies in the field of cybersecurity and applies knowledge gained to improve the organization’s security posture.
Uses expert knowledge of attack techniques to develop and implement detection capabilities for indicators of compromise; correlates data to build effective SIEM alerts.
Proactively and independently researches and implements system hardening procedures.
Configures advanced security policies that work within PulteGroup's security framework.
Collaborates with other IT teams to evaluate and recommend security solutions that fit within the enterprise architecture strategy.
Administers, maintains, and optimizes complex security software and services, performing upgrades when appropriate.
Performs forensic analysis and escalation for identified threats.
Evaluates threat intelligence, assesses risk to the company, and determines best course of action.
Leads vulnerability assessments and remediates as necessary.
Participates in on-call support when necessary.
Leads internal initiatives for the implementation, use, and improvement of processes, procedures, guidelines, and metrics for security systems.
Performs other duties as assigned.
