The business area Europe (E) is responsible for development, ownership and operation of all our renewable assets in Europe. The business area is also responsible for the project execution of large projects in Statkraft across the energy technologies and the group procurement function.

The Health, Safety and Security (HSS) team in Statkraft’s Project Delivery Unit is responsible for HSS management during all phases of project execution and for developing and implementing the HSS practices across all the business area’s activities. It is also responsible for HSS expertise and resources in the projects.

We are growing our business and need a H&S advisor to strengthen the support to developments in our project portfolio. The position will report to our HSS department in Oslo but may be situated in one of our offices in London, Cork, Madrid, Valencia, Knapsack, or Stockholm. Regular presence at the main office in Oslo will be required

You will on a daily basis be part of the team supporting our wind & renewables project portfolio, from early development through construction and handover to operations. The position reports to Head of Technical Safety, which is part of the HSS unit for the business area, located at the corporate headquarters in Oslo. 

Domestic and international travels will be required.

Job Description

You will have the role as H&S advisor for the international project portfolio, mainly within wind power technology, but work in other technologies will also be required. For the right candidate, this could be a senior position.

You will influence and develop our tools and methods within health and safety. During project development you will implement our way of working, ensure compliance and be part of shaping our projects. You will provide advice during the tendering phase, supporting procurement and technical quality. For the construction phase you will ensure that we have the resources to fulfil our role as Client.  As part of the HSS team in the business area you will also be involved in health and safety development work related to governance, standards, training etc.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Advice the project teams on H&S matters, in particularly in projects from early development throughout to handover to operations
  • Provide H&S support and advice to our engineering and procurement teams
  • Participate in wind turbine H&S reviews and inspections  
  • Provide H&S training and coaching to our regional H&S resources as well as contractors
  • Support H&S training and campaigns roll-out as necessary in the projects
  • Contribute to the establishment of a good safety culture in the projects - including project kick-offs 
  • Contribute to health and safety development work, e.g. management system, standards, training etc.

Participate in investigation and assurance activities across the project portfolio

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years operational experience within the wind industry
  • Relevant formal education such as skilled worker or university degree is a requirement
  • Good knowledge and engagement within health and safety in the industry
  • Ideally some experience from development or execution of projects, and/or operation & maintenance
  • Result oriented, structured, analytical and flexible with ability to create good work relations 
  • A team player, who can work independently
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Additional language skills such as Norwegian, German or French are an advantage.
