Overview
ENERCON is hiring an Engineering Resource Manager. In this role, you will be working with engineering, business unit leaders and managers to develop and implement effective resource management strategies using industry best practices. If you have 10 years of professional experience including 5 years of resource management and coordination experience with an engineering company, this role is for you. This role is available in any of our office locations.
Responsibilities
Due to continued growth, ENERCON is seeking an Engineering Resource Manager to join our team in any of our office locations. As an engineering firm, ENERCON delivers more than 2,000 projects per year using the knowledge, experience, skills and talent of our most valuable resource: our people. Effective resource management is critical to ENERCON’s success and growth. In this role, you will collaborate with Engineering Managers, Project Managers and Business Unit Leaders to develop and implement effective resource management strategies using industry best practices in the areas of:
- Resource Forecasting: Analyze pipelines and active backlog to forecast short-term, medium-term and long-term resource needs and trends. Develop forecasting reports that provide valuable insights and recommendations to senior leadership
- Resource Management, Planning & Allocation: Develop and implement resource planning and allocation practices that facilitate identification, coordination and assignment of the right people to the right projects. Coordinate with project managers and engineering teams to allocate resources effectively to meet project needs and priorities while achieving utilization targets. Effectively manage and optimize ENERCON’s Supply (people) and Demand (projects)
- Collaboration & Communication: Facilitate and lead communication between different business units to enable effective resource coordination and sharing. Conduct regular meetings with engineering managers and project managers to discuss resource needs and challenges and help resolve them. Communicate effectively with senior leadership to ensure alignment on resource needs, trends and strategies
- Systems & Technology Integration: Develop and integrate resource management processes by leveraging existing tools (e.g., CRM and ERP systems) and potentially implementing new tools (e.g., new resource management software). Utilize data to make informed decisions related to resource planning and allocation. Continuously improve resource management processes and tools to enhance efficiency
- Reporting & Analysis: Generate regular reports on resource utilization, availability and forecasting. Analyze resource data to identify trends, bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience including 5 years in resource management or resource coordination with an engineering firm
- Experience working directly with project managers, project engineers and engineering managers
- Proficiency in using tools, technology and software packages that facilitate resource management such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Professional Services Automation (PSA), Resource Management and/or Work Management software
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of programs including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent communication skills and collaboration abilities
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
- Strong organizational, communication & collaboration skills with the ability to hold others accountable for their duties and responsibilities
- Ability to work independently with a high level of attention to detail
Salary Range
The salary range for this full-time position is below. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
