This position is open for recruitment and fully funded following the 2025 Special Legislative Session.
The role:
Bring your customer service skills to the Gresham DMV as a bilingual transportation services representative. In this role, you will assist the public with obtaining a driver license, registering vehicles and issuing permits and license plates. In addition, you will administer knowledge, skill and vision tests to potential drivers, ensure correct fees are collected, provide information about regulations and policies and administer behind-the-wheel drive tests. A day in the life:
Help the public register vehicles and apply for permits.
Provide exceptional customer service while following privacy laws.
Communicate clearly with customers from diverse backgrounds to accurately answer complex questions in a way that is easily understood.
Produce photo licenses, instruction permits and identification cards.
Administer, correct and explain driver license tests.
Conduct and interpret results of driver vision tests.
Perform physical examinations of vehicles and verify vehicle identification numbers.
Prepare daily bank deposits and account for sensitive inventory.
Occasionally perform relief work in other DMV offices within the region.
May require standing for extended periods of time, working in inclement weather, working an irregular schedule and lifting up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to type at least 30 words per minute with a high level of accuracy. A typing assessment will be conducted at the time of interview for selected candidates.
