PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
 
The SAP Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is continuously transforming and evolving into an agile and strategic procurement organization. Optimal collaboration and partnership with all relevant stakeholders as part of the entire ecosystem will be imperative to meet SAP’s ambitious growth plans and support SAP’s strategy. In this regard, GPO is looking for new team members to support its transformation. We are looking for a Category Manager for the Software Category Team.
 

WHAT WILL YOU DO
 

 

• Your category includes the procurement of different types of Software (client, server, network, security, infrastructure, cloud / SaaS and others). 
• You will act as central point of contact for all software purchases for internal use and lead high volume negotiations.
• You will lead and coordinate the category buyer team from an technical perspective and be responsible for the category management (including Reporting, Savings etc.).
• You will create and execute the strategy for SAP’s Software Procurement. 
• You will further be responsible for supplier management and sourcing strategies as well as strategic sourcing events in close alignment with the Stakeholders, the category buyer team and the Head of Procurement for Software and Telecom. 
• You will look for opportunities for improvements, innovations, and savings and perform market analysis and benchmarking to gain market intelligence.

 

WHAT YOU BRING
 

• We are looking for highly motivated people with solid stakeholder management and negotiation skills who can establish clear priorities and manage multiple demands in a virtual, international environment. 
• Since teamwork is key at SAP, we are looking for a team player with strong focus in collaboration and communication and a talent to coordinate a team. 
• 5+ years of experience in strategic procurement within a multinational business, with a background in software or security and with understanding of common license metrics is part of your skillset already. This experience will include the ability to collaborate and crystalize business requirements and to translate them into actionable procurement activity.
• Experience with high volume negotiations in lead positions (10m€+) 
• Fluency in English (German or any other language is a plus).

MEET YOUR TEAM
 

The Software Team is part of the Global Procurement Organization. It defines and executes in close collaboration with business owners, corporate legal, finance and controlling the global sourcing strategies and supplier management. Within your daily tasks you will work closely with the Head of Procurement for Software and Telecom as well as the other members of the Software category team located in Prague. You can expect a highly motivated, young and dynamic team with focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.
