We are looking for a Sr Systems Engineer who has extensive experience in Linux Red Hat and Kubernetes to join our IT team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Linux-based infrastructure and applications in a hybrid cloud environment, combining on-premise hypervisors and cloud hyperscalers. You will also collaborate with other engineers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our systems and services.
We are looking for a Sr Systems Engineer who has extensive experience in Linux Red Hat and Kubernetes to join our IT team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Linux-based infrastructure and applications in a hybrid cloud environment, combining on-premise hypervisors and cloud hyperscalers. You will also collaborate with other engineers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our systems and services.
Responsibilities
- Manage and administer Linux Red Hat servers and clusters in production and development environments
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Kubernetes and related technologies such as Rancher
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot middleware technologies such as Redis, RabbitMQ, and Kafka
- Automate and optimize system performance and processes using scripting languages and tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Bash, Python, PowerShell.
- Monitor and analyze system metrics, logs, and alerts using tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk
- Implement and enforce security best practices and policies for Linux and Kubernetes systems and applications
- Provide technical support and guidance to other teams and users on Linux and Kubernetes related issues and requests
- Research and evaluate new technologies and solutions to improve our infrastructure and operations
- Document and update system architecture, design, and configuration
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS
- 3+ years of experience in Kubernetes administration and deployment, preferably on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Strong knowledge of Linux core and network services, such as SSH, sssd, PKI,
- Proficient in scripting languages and automation tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, Bash, Python, etc.
- Familiar with DevOps and CI/CD principles and tools, such as Git, Azure DevOps, and ArgoCD
- Experience with cloud computing and networking concepts and technologies, such as VPC, VPN, Load Balancer, Firewall, etc.
- Experience with container and microservice architectures and technologies, such as Docker, Helm, Istio, etc.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Splunk and Dynatrace
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Certifications in Linux, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms are a plus
