Bakery Assistant/Cake Decorator (Seasonal Part-Time)

Walters Wedding Estates, a Walters Hospitality brand, is actively seeking professional, self-motivated, skilled cake decorator to create dream wedding cakes for our Brides in a fun working environment. This person can adapt and learn quickly. 

*This position is for a seasonal part-time position working 2-3 days a week a several hours a day. Applicant must have at least 2 years of experience decorating cakes, but will consider less than 2 years experience dependent on portfolio. 

Job Overview and Requirements:

• Location: Houston, TX

• Job Hours: Part-Time, Hourly with the opportunity for advancement

• Pay: $16-$18 per hour

• Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent, culinary degree preferred

• Required Experience: Minimum 2 years cake decorating experience 

• Certifications: Servsafe Food Handlers or equivalent

• Physical Requirements: Able to stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs.

• Other: Have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Must be eligible for Company Vehicle insurance.

DUTIES:

• Responsible for baking cakes, desserts and cake decorating.  

• Must be familiar with basic textures such as stone, horizontal, stucco, wedding dots and palette.  

• Must have a working knowledge of food coloring, fondant, edible images, and cake design.
