Sr. Technical Enablement Specialist
DatabricksAbout the role
While candidates in the listed location(s) are encouraged for this role, candidates in other locations will be considered.
Databricks is experiencing tremendous growth and we are looking for a Technical Enablement Specialist to join our team. You will report to the Technical Enablement Manager for Field Engineering.
The Technical Enablement team's mission is to provide the technical field team, and all technical customer-facing roles, with an outstanding enablement program throughout their careers at Databricks - from onboarding when they first join us, to ensuring they are up to speed with the latest product features as they engage customers. The Technical Enablement Specialist will develop partnerships as they lead an internal, role-specific technical enablement roadmap that includes training such as asynchronous e-learning courses, live in-person/virtual events, and certification courses to evaluate learner growth and training retention.
The impact you will have:
- Work with the technical enablement team to support the implementation of the onboarding enablement plan for technical, customer-facing field members within their first 90 days at Databricks
- Perform strategic needs/curriculum analyses to create baselines for internal technical teams' field-readiness
- Contribute to the technical enablement strategy by developing scalable and interactive learning programs, including managing logistics, creating enablement assets (presentations, lesson plans, courses, activities and labs), and managing learning journeys in the Databricks learning management system
- Engage, persuade, and build alliances with important partners across the company (in organizations like engineering, customer success, support, product management, and more) to keep up-to-date with the many aspects of the fast-evolving Databricks platform to include in field enablement training
- Work with leadership to ensure that target roles are receiving the right training at the right time, that enablement efforts are not duplicated across the organization, that wherever appropriate, existing content at Databricks is consumed, and that other teams using enablement content are informed of updates to shared content
- Create SOPs and enablement content around NPI (new product information) to ensure that new feature training is delivered to the field promptly
- Evaluate programs for areas of improvement that lead to measurable outcomes (e.g. a reduction in new hire time to customer readiness) and implement improvement plans into training programs
What we look for:
- Minimum 6 years experience in technical enablement, technical sales, technical sales management, or technical sales productivity
- Minimum 2 years experience in technical field experience in any customer-facing role (Solutions Architect, Data Specialist, etc.)
- Experience in partner or customer enablement or similar role in a SaaS company/model
- Knowledge of technical training/enablement best practices (analysis, instruction design, implementation, and assessment) across distributed teams
- Experience building training programs that enhance technical competency and pre-sales skills in a technical environment
- Experience producing and hosting global educational events, driving adoption and measuring the impact of enablement programs
- Translate data/insights into strategies and provide data-driven solutions
Benefits
- Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision
- 401(k) Plan
- Equity awards
- Flexible time off
- Paid parental leave
- Family Planning
- Gym reimbursement
- Annual personal development fund
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Mental wellness resources
