Garments Teammate

Description

GENERAL SUMMARY OF PURPOSE:
Under direct supervision of the Team Leader/Supervisor, this position serves as the set-up operator for the Garment Department. In addition, performs miscellaneous other duties within the department and fills in for breaks for all department personnel.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set up the Garment Hangers and Apparel Press operators with work product dropped into load leveling bins from overhead slings.

At times alter garments by sewing buttons, zippers, etc. to maintain the appearance and quality of garments.

Follow all operator instructions for the position as set forth in the Production Operator Instruction Sheet (POIS).

Dry, fold sort and distribute garments as needed to ensure daily requirements.

Cover positions for breaks of other department personnel requiring the employee to have a working knowledge of the responsibilities and POIS of the other positions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Sewing experience with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in a production environment a plus.
