Senior Sustainability Consultant

Reports To: CEO / Crete President of Sustainability

SUMMARY: Our Sustainability Consultant works collaboratively with Crete United Partner companies to implement sustainability practices across their business, supports operations in ensuring sustainable practices are applied during service delivery, and supports sales team in shaping sustainable consulting engagements.

DUTIES/ DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Maintaining awareness of sustainable business practices and reporting requirements
• Collaborate with Partner company leadership teams to implement sustainable business practices
• Collaborate with Operations team members to implement sustainable practices are applied during service delivery
• Collaborate with Sales team to shape sustainable consulting engagements
• Contribute to Emerald’s internal knowledge management system by updating templates, QAQC forms, learning modules and related tools and resources
• Contributing expert knowledge on how to improve the sustainable performance of Crete and its partners projects by suggesting ideas, completing calculations and research, conducting analysis, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration
• Maintain existing accreditations and achieve additional accreditations
• Performs all other duties assigned

QUALIFICATONS:

• Education and/or Experience - Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, sustainability or equivalent, sustainability or equivalent. Preferred MBA, CPA, FSA. Three to five years’ experience. 
• Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and interpret common industry publications. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or board of directors. Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, clients, staff, vendors, etc.  

• Mathematical Skills –Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 

• Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. This role requires an above-average knowledge of Microsoft Office& excel. Must have a strong knowledge of sustainable business practices and reporting requirements.
