Job Summary:
The Strategic Communications and Media Relations Manager (SCMRM) plays a crucial role in creating and managing Frontier Nursing University's (FNU) over-arching communications strategy and in crafting the University’s messaging in innovative and compelling ways to elevate the brand. The SCMRM is a key member of the marketing team and the overall advancement team of FNU.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive University-wide communications and media strategy that engages and informs key stakeholders and ensures cohesive messaging and branding.
Develop and execute communications plans for all events and initiatives as appropriate in collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Lead the planning, creation and distribution of all university blog stories.
Create University marketing communications calendar.
Distribute press releases and engage with media contacts.
Assist with reputation management and crisis communications planning and execution as needed.
Create and distribute email marketing communications
Collaborate with advancement team members and others to plan, create, edit/review, and distribute university newsletters and publications.
Build relationships with local and national media and journalists to secure articles, stories, and features to spotlight FNU and its community members.
Secure and coordinate news and media interviews.
Work with Director and other constituents on media placement and to coordinate and execute media plan including but not limited to TV, radio, podcast.
Coordinate recruitment or branding focused presentations.
Monitor and analyze higher ed and competitor communications.
Serve as university representative for in-person events as needed.
Provide service to the University through activities such as involvement in FNU shared governance (e.g. committees, workgroups), FNU sponsored activities (e.g. charity drives, community-outreach activities), and/or service to the profession (e.g. presentations, professional organization committee work).

Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient knowledge of communications and media platforms including social media and email distribution.
Proficiency in using personal computer and various office software packages including word processing, video and photo editing, spreadsheet, presentation, calendaring, and email management.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required
3-5 years work experience in marketing/communications in higher education or related field with a focus in marketing, communications, or media relations.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting long periods of time
Reporting Relationship:
Reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications.
Work Location:
Eligible for hybrid telecommuting agreement after 30 days of employment. This position is eligible for up to 3 days per week telecommuting with supervisor approval.
Versailles, KY
Travel required as needed.
