Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a motivated, detailed oriented person to serve as the Health Information Associate at East Moline Correctional Center. This person will serve as a paraprofessional with overall responsibility for the facility health information records. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in planning, organizing, and preparing monthly statistical reports. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains protected health information and medical records of individuals in custody.
  • Compiles statistical data and health information reports related to individuals in custody concerning health care.
  • Drafts correspondence related to individual in custody medical records and protected health information.
  • Enters medical restrictions and health information for individuals in custody into facility databases.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of college and one (1) year of health-related office experience or completion of high school and three (3) years of health-related office experience.
  • Requires the ability to keyboard at 30 words per minute.
