Description

 

The PGEO (Product Governance and Execution Office) intern supports the IEEE Product Operating Model, an Agile model for delivering value. The intern will learn to apply Agile values and principles, delivering business value by utilizing the team's IT capabilities and assets, while working closely with IT and Business team members. The intern must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as technical skills. The intern will assist the team in understanding and documenting user stories, evaluating and reviewing them with the business and technical teams, and understanding the agile processes and deliverables. This is a challenging experience and the chance to contribute to IEEE’s digital transformation initiative.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand Agile values and principles and IEEE's Product Delivery Model.
  • Partner with the PODs (Product Oriented Delivery teams) to work on the POD’s documents, artifact analysis, and Agile ceremonies
  • Communicate and collaborate proactively with teams to analyze functional and technical needs, create user stories, etc.
  • Partner with the team in scheduling/prioritizing work - testing, documentation, and support
  • Help the PGEO team use and improve the IEEE Product Operating model
  • Learn and help with reporting metrics related to the new model (velocity, team performance, etc.)
  • Learn new technologies and use them
 

Qualifications

 
  • Working towards a B.S/M.S. in computer science or equivalent

  • Knowledge of MS Office tools

  • Knowledge of G Suite tools (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Calendar, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Jira and cloud software is desirable

  • Computer programming knowledge is desirable

  • Ability to work well with a wide range of individuals and problem-solve technical issues, and learn quickly

  • Ability to clearly communicate system issues to technical and non-technical personnel and users

  • Strong written and oral communication skills required

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Should be able to work on-site for a minimum of 30 hrs/week in the summer of 2026 (Jun-Aug)
