Description
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at the University of Chicago is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank. Appointees will provide patient care focused on medical and surgical retina services within the University of Chicago Medical Center. Additional responsibilities will include teaching residents and overseeing trainees, which encompasses medical students, residents, and retina fellows, along with engaging in scholarly activities. Academic rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications. These positions are benefits eligible. Appointees will focus on the management of patients experiencing medical and surgical vitreoretinal conditions. Appointees will become part of a dynamic and esteemed community of faculty members and students at UChicago Medicine, within the Biological Sciences Division, the Pritzker School of Medicine, the University of Chicago, and its associated institutions.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be board certified or eligible in ophthalmology, 4) have completed an ACGME-approved ophthalmology residency or its equivalent, and 5) have completed a two-year vitreoretinal fellowship.
