RemoteThe Collins Aerospace Central Strategy organization is seeking a Principal Specialist to join the Strategic Planning and Analytics team, supporting business analytics and strategic planning. The Analytics team produces a range of planned and ad-hoc analyses focused on understanding Collins performance and potential across its segments, leveraging internal data to prepare analyses and generate observations and recommendations for leaders. The team is responsible for understanding core drivers of Collins’ top-line and bottom-line performance and generating insights on cause and effect of internal and external factors on financial outcomes.
The Strategy Analyst plays an integral role in ensuring the quality, timeliness, and rigor of analyses and will gain exposure to all Collins Aerospace businesses and functions. Successful Analysts bring an acute attention to detail, commitment to quality, and natural curiosity. They will possess strong data analysis skills and financial acumen and are focused on continuous improvement. Outputs from this team’s analysis will shape business decisions across the company.
This individual will ideally work a hybrid role at our Charlotte, NC location.
Primary Responsibilities:
Aggregate, condition, and analyze financial data (e.g., sales, EBIT, investments) received from partners across Collins to understand trends and correlations, generate scenarios, and draw conclusions on performance and opportunities.
Collaborate closely across Strategic Planning team to analyze disparate datasets and projects to recognize patterns and understand relationship across various financial metrics.
Develop a strong understanding of Collins’ portfolio as well as customers, channels, and end-markets.
Synthesizes relevant information needed for high-level decision making, and succinctly communicates research findings in a clear and concise manner.
Communicate and display findings via multiple output formats including PowerPoint, White Papers, E-mail summaries and dashboards (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
Partner with strategic business units (SBUs) on future analytics projects and forecasting opportunities with internal and external data sets.
Develops and contributes to the constant improvement of research processes, tools, templates and models, and outputs/visuals.
Adjusts to shifting priorities, stringent deadlines, and last-minute requirements to accomplish tasks within non-negotiable corporate deadlines.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
Experience with Power Point and Excel (V-LOOKUPS, pivot tables, formulas, etc)
Experience using Excel for financial analysis
Ability to maintain multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards for research quality and analysis
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
SQL or Alteryx experience
Experience with Tableau and dashboard development
Experience in strategy, finance, or corporate development or consulting experience
Demonstrated market or financial forecasting experience
Degree in business related field or data analytics
