Lead Media Engineer

Napster is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Media Engineer to join our team and help us develop and expand our streaming and artist tool products. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and make a real impact on the future of music streaming.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement key system and application architecture components that support the creation, transfer, and storage of digital assets.
• Maintain and expand a scalable and reliable global streaming platform.
• Work with other engineers to design and implement new features and improve the existing platform.
• Contribute to the development of new technologies and standards.
• Mentor and train junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on media streaming.
• Experience with distributed file systems (IPFS) and cloud computing.
• Familiarity with media codecs, protocols, and encoding standards.
• Experience with multiple programming languages, including Node.js, Python, Go, and Rust.
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for music and a deep understanding of media streaming technologies and services.
• Google Cloud experience is a plus.
