Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, while following all safety procedures, production processes, and company policies.
- Supports quality technicians in achieving company goals of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Measures, tests, and inspects materials, products, machinery, and processes according to quality and safety standards, while meeting customer requirements.
- Uses various gauges and equipment to aid in measuring and inspecting products.
- Participates in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities and change control.
- Calibrates inspection equipment, instruments, and gauges to ensure they function properly.
- Participates in internal, supplier, and customer audit activities corresponding to production schedules.
- Collects, tracks, records, and maintains quality control data and reporting on this data.
- Interacts with customers and/or vendors when necessary for quality assurance.
- Informs customers of any issues with product quality and ensures a corrective action plan is in place.
- Reports any NG (No Good) condition and contains suspect material.
- Ability to make accurate assessments of problems, communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a strong interest in a collaborative working process.
- Escalates issues to supervisor and/or manager and communicates cross-functionally to ensure satisfactory operations within shift.
- Promotes high morale, teamwork, and a positive work environment.
- Performs inspections of the quality and strength of welds by using weld destructive test and cut and etch test to ensure conformance with quality standards.
- Maintains a safe, organized, and clean work area.
- Participates in and support 5S, Quality, Safety, Delivery, Cost, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing activities.
- Other duties and projects may be assigned based on the operational objectives of the company.
Education And/Or Experience:
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) and minimum six (6) months experience ideally in automotive manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with all level of employees. Strong organizational skills, teamwork, and leadership skills.
