As a Physical or Occupational Therapy Technician, you will assist licensed therapy professionals by supporting patients with lifting, transferring, gait training, and exercise activities, while providing therapeutic assistance as directed. This Rehab Technician position plays a vital role in helping our Physical and Occupational Therapists deliver patient care across both our critical care units and regular nursing floors. It serves as an excellent entry point into the healthcare field, offering valuable hands-on experience and opportunities for professional skill development.
This position is well-suited for individuals seeking practical, hands-on experience in a therapy-centered environment prior to pursuing advanced education in nursing, physical therapy, or other healthcare professions. While some team members choose to build long-term careers in this role, many utilize it as a valuable steppingstone toward advanced clinical pathways
A caregiver in this position works Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays (20-24 hours). Occasional holidays are required. 8:00am—4:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Maintain sanitary, orderly conditions in department.
Inventory departmental equipment.
Ensure equipment is in good working order.
Fabricate equipment as directed.
Perform set-up of patient-related equipment.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma/GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Demonstrate sufficient mathematical knowledge to maintain department inventory levels, measure and fabricate equipment, and adhere to the supplies budget when ordering materials
