Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Vice President for Finance & Chief Financial Officer (VP for Finance & CFO) provides essential University-wide leadership for Eastern Kentucky University in the coordination and management of the university budgets, treasury function, student accounting services, tax and regulatory compliance, and serves as the financial liaison to internal constituencies and external agencies.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• Master of Business or related field.

Experience: 

• Must also demonstrate a history of progressive supervisory experience, to include a minimum of 5 years of direct management experience over a team of financial professionals.
  
• A minimum of five years of related work experience, knowledge of state and federal funding agencies, strategic planning, and budgeting
  
• Demonstrated history of effective communications with internal and external stakeholders

Desired Experience:

• Experience in a higher education environment

Licensure & Certifications:

• CPA preferred.

Job Duties:

• 55%: Coordination and management of the annual operating and auxiliary budgets, treasury function, student services, tax compliance, etc. (Essential)
• 40%: Serves as the financial liaison to internal constituencies and external agencies (Essential)
• 5%: Supports the efficient and effective operations of the Office of the President and the University at large (Essential)
