Onsite – Blacksburg, VA

To be considered for a Machine Operator (Apprentice) role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

• At least one year completion of an approved vocational program in Machine Technology or equivalent

• Quality conscious, mechanical aptitude, and good dexterity

• To be proficient in general math (use of fractions, decimals, simple formulas and charts)

• To be able to lift at least 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation

• Ability to use Machine Shop Gauges

• Basic knowledge in blueprint reading and geometric tolerances

As a Machine Operator (Apprentice), you will:

• Perform basic drill press, lathe, and milling machine operations 

• Responsible for the care, use, and application of various turning/plunge and form tools 

• Operate tapping machine (manual and power), and understand different styles and types of taps and dies (metric and standard) 

• Operate sand and bead blasters 

• Completion of required paperwork necessary in the job and ability to verify work meets requirements of blueprints, standards and work instructions 

• Cleaning of machined hardware  

• Work with the supervision of a mentor 

• Perform other duties as assigned

Salary Range Transparency:

Blacksburg, VA $16.00–$17.00 Hourly

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
