Cleveland Clinic’s nationally ranked Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute (HVTI) features 12 Cardiovascular Stepdown/Progressive Care Units dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care for adult patients. We are seeking Registered Nurses to join our team where we offer diverse, high-acuity environments designed to support your professional growth and align with your clinical interests.
In our dynamic Heart Failure Unit, you’ll play a key role in providing expert, compassionate care to patients with heart conditions in an outpatient setting. As part of this collaborative and patient-focused environment, our nurses support both clinical visits and specialized vascular procedures, helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes and quality of life.

A caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday, (4x10-hour shifts), 7:00am—5:30pm. No weekends/holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans.
Administer medication and treatments.
Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures, and specialized patient care equipment.
Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
Cover other nursing roles within the department.
Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
One year of recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
- May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
