Child and Adult Psychiatrist - Clinical Track, Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor Rank, Non-Tenured

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Tulane University School of Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor on the Clinical Track. We are seeking board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrists in both Child Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry, with clinical responsibilities tailored to experience and training.

Clinical Responsibilities:

Depending on specialization, clinical duties will include:

• Outpatient and/or inpatient psychiatric care, including medication management, psychiatric evaluations, crisis intervention, and telepsychiatry.
• Individual, group, and family therapeutic interventions.
• Consultation and case staffing with clinic teams.
• Inpatient service at University Medical Center and/or the New Orleans VA Medical Center for those with adult psychiatry training.

Teaching Responsibilities:
Faculty will contribute to the department’s educational mission through:

• Supervision and teaching of child psychiatry fellows, triple board residents, adult psychiatry residents, medical students, clinical psychology interns, and postdoctoral fellows.
• Didactic teaching, including participation in grand rounds.
• Mentorship of trainees in research and scholarly activities.

Scholarly and Service Expectations:
All faculty are expected to:

• Engage in scholarly activity, such as presentations or publications, annually.
• Actively participate in departmental clinical, teaching, and service missions.
• Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to academic and clinical program development.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited residency in General or Adult Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry.
• Board eligible/certified in General/Adult Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry.
• Eligible for Louisiana medical licensure and possession of a valid state and federal narcotics license.
• Eligible for clinical privileges at Tulane University Hospital and Clinic, University Medical Center, and/or New Orleans VA Medical Center (as applicable).
• Willingness to adhere to institutional bylaws and privilege requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Board certification in both General and Child Psychiatry.
• Experience in academic teaching and clinical supervision.
