About the role

Responsibilities

Noblis is seeking a technical thinker and doer to work as a Cyber Security Project Engineer within a highly dynamic and impactful operating environment located in McLean, VA.

 

The Cyber Security Project Engineer will:

  • Analyze systems, including forensically, for malware, misuse, and/or unauthorized activity.
  • Investigate virus/malware alerts/incidents to determine root cause, entry point of code, damage risk, and report this information.
  • Investigate and analyze of all data sources, to include Internet, Intelligence Community reporting, security events, firewall logs, forensic hard-drive images, and other data sources to identify malware, misuse, unauthorized activity or other cyber security related concerns.
  • Monitor, document, and respond to centrally collected virus alerts.
  • Participate in project review meetings and provide technical cyber security guidance when necessary.
  • Conduct tier-3 support of current infrastructure.
  • Design, test, and integrate new security products.
  • Ensure all network defense capabilities are kept current, patched, and securely configured and management informed of status.
  • Provide engineering support for all Sponsor systems such as network based intrusion detection
  • Integrate security products, including designs for all Sponsor networks.
  • Maintain a network diagram for each instruction detection, cyber defense capability and sensors and make available to all Sponsor personnel.
  • Maintain system baselines and configuration management items, including security event monitoring policies.
  • Provide engineering documentation and interaction with colleagues to ensure a complete and functioning system that meets requirements.
  • Conduct software testing (patches, other updates); beta testing; proof of concept testing.
  • Have detailed knowledge of Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 503 and other related cybersecurity ICDs.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
  • Demonstrated experience with cyber security and associated cyber security practices.
  • Experience in the IT Security frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, DoD CMMC, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience working with IC Agencies.
  • Knowledge of IC systems, processes, data, and policies. 
  • Knowledge and application of agile techniques and methodologies.
  • Experience mentoring or training (through formal or informal means) members of the team.
  • Maintain one or more certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM or similar).
  • Security testing and penetration testing experience.
  • Vulnerability management experience.
  • API development and security practices.
  • Experience developing enterprise security policies and procedures.
  • OSCAL experience
  • Experience with operating system or network security management.
  • Experience managing incident response and after-action remediation.

 

Skill Levels:

 

  • Senior Expert (SME): Bachelor’s Degree in associated field and 14+ years of relevant experience; Master’s Degree in associated field and 11+ years of relevant experience; PhD and 10+years of relevant experience.  
    •  Compensation $166,800 - $321,300
  • Expert: Bachelor’s Degree in associated field and has 10+ years of relevant experience; Master’s Degree and 9+ years of relevant experience; PhD and 8+ years of relevant experience.
    •  Compensation $138,000 - $291,900
  • Senior: Bachelor’s Degree in associated field and has 6+ years of relevant experience; Master’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; PhD and 4+ years of relevant experience.
    •  Compensation $114,100 - $199,700
  • Junior: Bachelor’s Degree in associated field and 1+ years of relevant experience.
    • Compensation $77,800 - $164,900
