$67,276.00 - $94,149.00The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE:Develops intervention plans to address the health, safety, and quality of life needs of individuals and communities. May also identify health concerns that impact a specific population, conducts community assessments to identify potential problems, and develops or implements health education programs. Works closely with EIP colleagues, infection control staff, data managers, and others. Serves as a consultant, educator, and researcher for various healthcare associated infection (HAI) surveillance and survey projects. Duties do not include patient care or face-to-face patient interaction. Specific activities include case investigation and completion of case report forms (CRFs) for several EIP studies, and abstraction of data from medical records. Serves as a primary resource for project coordinators and is responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of all study data. Reviews data collected, adjudicate discrepancies among data collectors and provide support in the validation of collected data.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Completes case report forms for EIP surveillance projects by screening potential cases for eligibility and for identified cases and abstracting data from medical charts per the guidelines. - Participates in the planning, development and implementation of study design, protocols, consent forms, processes and policies, as well as reviewing and approving CRFs and study-specific procedure manuals and documents. Develops, implements and monitors systems and methods to ensure quality, efficiency, and consistency in the collection and processing of research data. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and institutional requirements and standards, including submission of protocols for Institutional Review Board (IRB) review. - Determines best methods to train other staff to assist with HAI projects. Ensures data integrity and consistent methodology across staff working on the project. Leads data validation efforts for EIP HAI projects by completing dual chart reviews and identifying discrepancies. Develops education for other EIP team members based on identified discrepancies. - Acts as a resource for clinical questions for the entire EIP team. Supports other EIP project coordinators by answering clinical questions related to EIP surveillance. Participates in CDC group conference calls and trainings. Analyzes data and provides summary reports and recommendations. - Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - Bachelor's degree in nursing or health related field and 3 years of relevant experience required - Or equivalent combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Strong research background and the ability to manage large projects with multiple data collection methods required - Understanding of medical records and terminology required - Ability to accurately abstract clinical data from a variety of medical record formats is required required - Familiarity with HAI definitions and infection prevention preferred LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in New York State (NYS) upon hire required
