Fruitist is seeking a transformational Head of Engineering to lead its global engineering function responsible for delivering the next generation of software applications, data platforms and oversee technical delivery and integration of solutions across the organization. You will architect and implement scalable systems to support a fast-growing international business, ensure operational excellence, and drive product innovation across core and emerging technologies (AI/ML, analytics, IoT, and ERP integrations). This role is instrumental in maturing the company’s technology foundation while enabling expansion across 13+ countries.

You will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing engineering team, setting architectural direction, standardizing infrastructure governance, and ensuring consistent global delivery across systems—from owning infra powering our ERPs to leading development and deployment of bespoke and 3rd party apps, to provisioning resources that power data platforms which support our precision agriculture and AI/ML predictive models across the business.

You will work directly with our CTO, Head of Data and Head of IT counterparts to stand up an industry-leading technology organization that can support our mission of consistent healthy and nutritious snacking.

Key Responsibilities

• Own Global Architecture & Infrastructure: Design and manage scalable, secure infrastructure to support ERP, data platform and analytics, and software applications globally across AWS and Azure.

• Lead Software Engineering & DevOps: Oversee in-house product development (Python/JavaScript), DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, and production-grade system reliability.

• Build vs. Buy Strategy: Guide decisions around proprietary vs. third-party software with a clear eye toward operational scalability and differentiation, while balancing user and business’ functional needs.

• Governance & Compliance: Establish change management, vendor controls, and infrastructure governance to support global compliance and public-market readiness.

• Support Data Science & AI Teams: Provide robust infra support for ML pipelines, real-time analytics, and yield prediction models in close partnership with the Head of Data and Head of AI.

• ERP & IT Collaboration: Partner with IT and ERP leaders to ensure robust backend infrastructure that supports business operations across geographies.

• Team Building & Mentorship: Scale and lead a hybrid global engineering team, with direct management of DevOps, software engineers, and Peruvian application developers.

• Budget Oversight: Manage a multimillion-dollar engineering budget to maximize ROI on tech investments.

• Drive Operational Maturity: Build systems that deliver consistent uptime, global performance, and enable rapid product iteration.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including as a Head of Engineering, VP, or equivalent at a fast-scaling tech-forward business.

• Strong track record building and managing global hybrid engineering teams (onshore + near/offshore).

• Proven experience supporting international operations and infrastructure across 5+ countries, experience leading deployments in China is a plus.
