We are looking for a sharp finance editor who can edit (and possibly write) articles with excellent accuracy, style, and tone. Assignment Details:
20 to 25 hours a weekStart date: 8/27/2024End date: 6 months with potential to extendHourly Rate: $40 - 50 Location: Remote - US
Assignment Responsibilities:
- Edit, fact check, and/or copy edit well-sourced, accurate, thorough, and educational articles within Investopedia systems while working with Investopedia staff
- Execute on brand and AP style guidelines, formats, citations, grammar, and other best practices, while using People Inc tech platforms
- Collaborate with freelance writers on improving their copy
- Understand or experience using Datawrapper and/or the TradingView platform highly preferred
- Conduct original reporting and/or writing for articles, including by interviewing subject matter experts
Skills/Experience:
- 3+ years of experience working for a reputable publisher in the investing, finance, and/or business world. Previous coverage areas should include more than one of the following: the broad stock market, options trading and strategies, ETFs and mutual funds, individual stocks, bonds, forex, technical analysis, and financial advising and wealth management
- Exceptional editing judgement and skills and rooted in a deep understanding of AP Style
- Strong attention to detail, hatred of typos, and ability to meet deadlines and multitask at a fast pace
- Google Analytics, SEO, and CMS skills required
- Knowledge and experience working with technical analysis is preferred
