Your role goes beyond traditional administration - it's about engineering solutions and processes that underpin our dynamic, high-transaction-rate setting, integral to our mission in cryptocurrency solutions.</p> <h1><strong>What You’ll Be Doing</strong></h1> <ul> <li>Help engineering teams to maximise the performance of their services when interacting with MySQL databases</li> <li>Contribute with your engineering expertise to the ongoing development of AWS cloud-based database design and standards, innovating scalable solutions that align with cryptocurrency advancements</li> <li>Be the ambassador of best practices and promote their adoption within our engineering community</li> <li>Apply advanced techniques to continuously monitor, evaluate and optimize database performance</li> <li>Work on developing tools and processes for seamless database migrations, provisioning, and intelligent monitoring</li> <li>Maintain database deployment and management through infrastructure as code, optimizing efficiency and consistency</li> <li>Ensure adherence to industry regulations, security to highest standards, and development of disaster recovery plans, that ensure organizational resilience in unforeseen challenges</li> </ul> <h1><strong>What We Look For</strong></h1> <ul> <li>Proven expertise in database design, normalization, and optimization, with a focus on crafting high-performance MySQL databases</li> <li>Hands-on experience with AWS database technologies, including RDS and Aurora</li> <li>Extensive experience in MySQL database administration, replication, clustering, and advanced features</li> <li>Strong command of SQL, leveraging it to optimize database performance and drive efficient query execution</li> <li>In-depth understanding and practical experience in database security principles and compliance standards</li> <li>Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools within the AWS ecosystem, with a focus on Infrastructure as Code (i.e. Terraform) and leveraging technologies as Docker and Kubernetes</li> <li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for working closely with software engineering teams and contributing to the engineering efforts</li> </ul> <p><em>At Bitvavo, we believe that diverse perspectives drive innovation, foster creativity, and lead to better outcomes.
