Basic Function
The Sr. Advisor, Communications Excellence will help establish the foundational elements to guide the Communications department towards excellence, and will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership striving for continuous improvement. This includes developing and implementing a strategic communications framework from which communications strategies can be developed globally, and working with the Communications leadership team to maintain an integrated and consistent approach to strategy development.
This role will also help implement a culture of date-driven decision making and establish key performance indicators to measure success. The successful candidate will also help establish rigor in the maintenance of and adherence to critical processes and procedures across the department and will maintain the company’s most visible corporate documents to promote consistency of messaging across the enterprise.
In addition, this individual will help implement tools and resources in support of growth and development.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Partners with senior leadership and works with a cross-functional team to develop and implement a comprehensive, strategic communications framework that aligns with our company strategy and goals.
- Identifies tools and best practices in the communications landscape, and implements new ways of working across the organization to drive continuous improvement.
- Establishes key performance indicators to measure progress towards department goals, and uses data to measure the effectiveness of our efforts, identify areas for improvement and lead positive change.
- Translates data into actionable insights, informing communications strategies.
- Works with the Communications leadership team to establish, maintain and updates critical processes and procedures and promote adherence.
- Establishes tools and resources in support of growth and development within the Communications department.
- Owner of corporate documents, working with various groups to update and enhance as needed.
- Manages the company’s corporate awards program, and is responsible for developing the strategy, working with senior leadership to prioritize awards, and managing submissions with support from other groups.
Min. Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required in journalism, communications or public relations or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in a related field, required.
- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
- Must demonstrate the ability to be detail-oriented, while also understanding the big picture
- Ability to think strategically, adapt to a rapidly changing environment, and strive for continuous improvement.
- Sets stretch targets for self to ensure high quality performance.
- The ideal candidate will have excellent collaboration and listening skills and the ability to impact and influence across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Ability to work independently, with guidance in complex situations.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- English language, additional languages preferred
