Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team is a new ground-up effort to build Infrastructure-as-a-Service that operates at a large scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. We are looking for a Software Engineer who will design and develop software for the distributed services as it relates to the networking data plane. You should have a clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles and be eager to help automate. Prior experience in coding is required. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

As a Senior Member of Technical Staff on the Core Networking Control Services team, you will help design and develop highly scalable and performant cloud services to manage a growing fleet of networking devices. You will be one of the engineers responsible for implementing, deploying and operating a highly available, and secure cloud services. You will design and develop code, unit tests, integration tests, use CI/CD pipeline for pre-production functionality, performance, and scalability testing. You will participate in our on-call rotation to monitor our service fleet.

Required Qualifications:
* 4+ years of experience in software development developing large scale distributed services/applications
* Proficiency in Java/Python and Object-Oriented programming
* Excellent knowledge of data structures, search/sort algorithms
* Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Desired Qualifications:
* Knowledge of cloud computing & networking technologies including monitoring services
* Experience developing service-oriented systems
* Exposure to Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Storm, open TSDB, Elastic Search or other distributed compute platforms
* Experience developing automated test suites
* Experience with Jira, Confluence, BitBucket
* Knowledge of Scrum & Agile Methodologies

US: Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
