Registered Nurse / RN Responsibilities

• Function within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, utilizing recognized standards of clinical practice, as defined by the State of Minnesota
• Responsible for delegating, monitoring and delivering resident care
• Develops and updates a person-centered plan of care for each client after assessing/reassessing clients’ medical, nursing and psycho-social needs
• Coordinates and directs the provision of delegated nursing services to nursing/unlicensed staff in compliance with current licensure
• Assists new nursing personnel to learn procedures, policies and concepts of care
• Responsible for medication/treatment administration and documentation
• Receives and gives report on current resident status and changes in status
• Ensures accurate charting and documentation is completed on a daily basis
• Establishes/maintains strong communication with families/caregivers and all agencies involved to provide a continuity of client care
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emergency procedures and responds to emergencies
• Assists with new inquiries, tours and client move-ins
• Participates in RN-On-Call rotation

Registered Nurse / RN Qualifications

• Have graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing
• Have current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota
• Must have a current Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) certification
• Have at least one (1) year experience in an acute hospital or equivalent experience
• Exhibit professional behavior and attitude
• Demonstrates the ability to make appropriate professional judgments
• Possess good interpersonal communication skills
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must demonstrate leadership skills necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position
