Position Scope
Performs high quality percussion music of various Polynesian cultures for one or more shows, or as a member of the Promo Team.
Attends regular rehearsals to upgrade the quality of performance and showmanship, and to increase personal repertoire.
Assists in setting the atmosphere for various shows and special events by providing prelude and exit percussion music.
Requirements
Must be able to learn, and subsequently perform, the percussion music of the various Polynesian cultures represented at the Polynesian Cultural Center.
Must be able to pass an audition consisting of singing, chanting, and playing one or more of the following instruments: lali, large drum, tin can, bamboo pole, and ipu.
Must look Polynesian.
Must be able to communicate in English.
Must have one year of work experience as a professional drummer.
Must be available to work through Christmas holiday break.
Requires good health and a full range of body movement and be capable of moving freely among the guests.
Should have a high school education.
