JOB SUMMARY:

This is a Tax Auditor II position in the General Tax Administration Program, Refunds and Revenue Accounting Process, Refunds Unit. The incumbent independently performs moderately complex refund audits of taxpayers conducting business in Florida. The incumbent also examines, analyzes, or interprets accounting records or investigates financial information for the purposes of giving advice or preparing statements or reports to ensure correct processing of refund claims by the Department.             

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.  
  • Two years of experience in auditing, banking, accounting, bookkeeping, or positions conducting financial-related transactions.                                                     
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.     

PREFERENCES:

  • Experience performing sales and use tax audits within the Refunds process.
  • Experience working with the System of Unified Taxation (SUNTAX).
  • Experience with researching Florida statutes and administrative codes.              

SPECIAL NOTES:

  • Documentation of education requirements must be submitted at time of application to proceed to the skills verification test. Failure to provide education requirements could result in removal from further consideration.

SALARY: The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed $4,228.11 monthly/$50,737.32 annually.
