Supervises veterinary technical staff. Performs veterinary and technical procedures to support research projects. Documents and communicates findings about animal health. Ensures that all personnel work according to departmental SOPs, IACUC policies, and the regulations of the Animal Welfare Act and the Public Health Service. Rotational work on weekends and holidays may be required.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan, direct, supervise and coordinate the daily activities of up to ten Animal Health Technicians, including interviewing, on-the-job training, performance management and evaluation, career development discussions, and oversight of employee work schedules and attendance. Ensure that the established SOPs are properly executed and department policies are followed. Schedule daily activities and weekend rounds and distribute workload to staff.
In cooperation with the Training Coordinator, train the vet tech staff on SOPs and in daily duties.
Independently conduct daily rounds and examine, evaluate, treat, and document health issues and their related service charges in research animals.
Order and maintain inventories of supplies necessary for the conduct of animal health care activities.
Other duties as assigned.

$43,888.00 - $75,600.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
