Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

We're seeking a Head Lifeguard to join our team! As our new Head Lifeguard you will:

  • Work 30-40 hours in hands on, member facing roles including Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, or Coach

  • Support lifeguard and swim instructor team of 20 (year-round)/50 (summer)

  • Help the Aquatics Coordinator with training

  • Serves as the manager on deck during programming or events

  • Maintain watch over the pool area ensuring a secure and safe environment

  • Employ accident prevention by enforcing pool rules and regulations

  • Respond to all injuries, incidents, and emergencies as directed by club policy

  • Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the aquatics center

  • Other duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Two to Three years of Lifeguarding experience

  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification (basic level)

  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification or the ability to obtain the certification within 90 days of hire  

  • Ability to be in water for long periods during the day

Strongly Desired:

  • Previous experience in supervising staff

  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer

  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire

Per pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this position ranges from $17.00/hour to $19.00/hour. Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay is dependent on factors including site location, specialty, certifications and work experience as well as other business needs.
