Description: 

Aleut Federal is currently searching for a dedicated and experienced Project Integration Team (PIT) Lead to act as the primary liaison for project and cable integration efforts with the USG customer. The ideal candidate will excel in delivering outstanding IT customer service while effectively supervising and guiding a team focused on cable and project integration initiatives. This position demands a high level of professionalism, expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment. In addition to overseeing daily operations, the PIT Lead will be responsible for mentoring and training team members to ensure adherence to project and cable standards, thereby fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the team. Candidates should possess strong leadership skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality service delivery throughout all phases of project integration.  

Responsibilities: 

  • May conduct site surveys with Infrastructure Engineer to collect necessary data for existing cable and workstation location. 
  • Accurately interpret floor plans, technical drawings, specifications, and cut sheets to guide the installation process. 
  • May assist in development of detailed cable plans, installation layouts, and other related cabling documentation. 
  • Oversee supervision of cable moves, additions, installations, and changes, ensuring all documentation is updated to reflect current and future cabling configurations. 
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot issues within cabling systems to ensure optimal performance. Data will be provided to Infrastructure Engineer (IEng).  
  • Create and deliver comprehensive inspection reports, including Discrepancy Reports, Status Reports, Test Results, Punch Lists, and Redline Drawings as necessary. 
  • Diagnose and resolve problems with network routers, switches, standard test equipment, and systems under evaluation. 
  • Manage the resolution of ServiceNow tickets to address cabling and network-related requests. 
  • Conduct testing on newly installed or relocated cables following established protocols to ensure functionality. 
  • Execute patching and cross-connection duties as required. 
  • Terminate and install fiber-optic cables (using LC, SC, or ST connectors via Uni-Cam or hot melt methods), as well as CAT6, RGB, and coax cables. 
  • Repair or replace faulty cable distribution systems and related equipment as needed. 
  • Utilize a range of basic hand tools for cable installation, along with fiber termination equipment, wire strippers, punch-down tools, and fiber optic testing devices. 
  • Manage inventory by receiving materials from the warehouse, transporting them to work sites, and returning any unused items. 
  • Maintain organized and clean work areas, ensuring they are free from materials and debris. 
  • Lead projects and initiatives as assigned, providing support for troubleshooting, break-fix tasks, and installation/renovation projects with minimal supervision. 
  • Review project documentation and conduct site surveys to develop effective plans and schedules for successful project execution. 
  • Perform additional related tasks as necessary to support project completion and implementation efforts. 
  • Comply with and advocate for environmental, health, and safety policies in all activities. 
  • Stay informed about current National Building Codes and OSHA standards to ensure compliance in all aspects of work. 
  • Provide support for troubleshooting, break-fix tasks, and installation/renovation projects with minimal supervision. 
  • Overseeing and managing the infrastructure support queue, ensuring all tickets are resolved/fulfilled within SLA and customer satisfaction targets and other KPIs are achieved 
  • Providing periodic reporting and management information on infrastructure performance and operational KPIs 
  • Supporting Operations in their patching schedules, and acting as an escalation point 

Requirements: 

  • U.S. citizenship and current TS with SCI eligibility. 
  • Experience in the integration and deployment of developed products to operational environments 
  • Experience leading technical teams
