The Field Technician performs various field duties in support of Customer Services. These duties include, but are not limited to, enforcement of delinquent accounts, performing various types of services on meters from 5/8-inch up to 2” in size, inspection of various meter installations, reading of non-transmitting meters, verifying account information as it pertains to meter size, type, location and property serviced and various other meter related duties as assigned by the Foreman.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Verifies customer information as it relates to meter reads, meter location, meter type, meter size, service address and occupancy.
Performs interior audits, meter leak inspections and site inspections to ensure that installation conforms to DC Water specifications to include frame and cover placements are at grade.
Performs service termination and restoration on meters from 5/8-inch up to two inches in size.
Reports and documents any deficiencies at meter installations to ensure that installation adheres to DC Water specifications and standards.
Installs meters and meter transmitting units (MTU) from 5/8-inch up to two inches
