The expected base salary for this position ranges from $156,640 - $195,800. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors and considerations. In addition to base salary and a generous employee benefits package, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.

 

General Description of the Role

 

Leads to the development of powerful strategic marketing processes and tools in support of brand activation and growth in all the core, potential and seeding countries, closely working with the Global Director Rums and VP Dark Spirits.

 

Mission/Objectives

 

As a key member of the Global Strategic Marketing (GSM), the role proactively contributes to the activation and expansion of Jamaica Rums (Appleton Estate, Wray & Nephew Overproof, Kingston 62) in the Markets around the world. Having a strong knowledge of the category dynamics and brands’ features, shepherd brand positioning, strategic initiative planning, marketing tool kit elaboration including glocal campaign support, new product and POS development and continuous improvement.  The role closely collaborates across global markets and at all levels in the organization, coordinating all the key players involved (incl. GSM team members, Global Commercial Capabilities team,  local marketing teams, other internal stakeholders and third parties) to ensure a successful team working and proper focus on brand growth and profitability target achievement.

 

 

Key Responsibilities and Activities

 

GLOBAL BRAND POSITIONING STEWARDSHIP   

Contributes to all stages of the global brand positioning implementation, under the guidance of the Director Rums, towards building strong global brands.  Collaborate with key markets to ensure both global and local creative executions and brand activities are in support of global brand positioning, global Growth Model, and where applicable, the glocal creative campaign idea. 

 

 

STRATEGIC PLANNING and ANALYSIS

Contributes to the annual global strategic planning process (GSR) applying approach, framework and metrics developed by GSM to ensure timely common and appropriate deliverables to local Markets; supports the Director by:

  • Leads the development of the brand-market level forecast, leveraging a range of internal and syndicated data sources both quantitative (e.g. IWSR, Nielsen) and qualitative (e.g. trend reports, market stakeholder interviews) across dimensions of category performance and projections, brand performance, and macro consumer trends.
  • Develops straightforward GSR presentation package by relevant Market, leveraging on Brand Reviews as well global consumer insights and market research 
  • Contributes to the brand Long Term Forecast in partnership with FP&A and SC teams
  • Elaborates and proposes a category-level strategies balancing synergies opportunities with the distinctive equities.
  • Monitors the brand profitability and performance trends and analyzes variances versus plans
  • In cooperation of Global Commercial Capabilities Team, develops and updates of category/brand Growth Models.

 

 

GLOBAL CAMPAIGN DEVELOPMENT and EXECUTION   

Contributes to all stages of the global campaign, under the guidance of the Director, towards powerful consumer and trade facing executions and market-level implementation.  Supports Director to:

  • Develops campaign creative strategies and tactics on time, on budget with key partners
  • Elaborates creative briefs for global campaign assets and manages development process of those assets
  • Ensures key market collaboration creatively and logistically throughout the process, considering in-market implementation in the design of all global activities for optimal impact and utilization
  • Proactively supports key markets in local adaptations of global campaign
  • Delivers best-in-class marketing toolkits to both inspire stakeholders and drive consistent and structured market implementation with straightforward guidelines
