The starting pay for this position is $18.75 hr. with a shift increase for second and third shift. 

Hours:

1st Shift- 7:00am-3:00pm

2nd Shift- 3:00pm-11:00pm

3rd Shift- 11:00pm-7:00am

Summary of the Purpose and Objective 

The General Production Worker is responsible for processing, screening, and packaging product to ensure product meets or exceeds customer expectations. GPW’s must follow all safety, GMP, and quality processes in every step of production to ensure the integrity of the product and the safety of all team members. Will be required to maintain personal hygiene standards.

Description of Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Inspect product on various lines to check for foreign material and to make sure product meets customer specifications such as proper color, size, shape, etc. 
  • Properly stack product to maintain accurate case counts for each product.
  • Assemble and tape boxes in fast pace to keep up with production lines.
  • Pack product in boxes based on customer specifications, ensuring proper weight and product count.
  • Must be willing to train new hires and transferred team members.
  • Must be willing to learn all general production positions as positions will rotate on regular basis throughout shift and may include both departments (corn and flour).
  • Must correctly follow general manufacturing, safety, and quality processes.
  • Must immediately communicate any product, equipment, quality, safety, or HR concerns to lead and/or supervisor.
  • Will be expected to complete ongoing production, quality, safety, and other required training.
  • Must maintain cleanliness/organization of production area, keeping area free of debris and potential foreign material and returning and production related tools/equipment at end of shift.
  • Responsible for notifying Supervisor and/or QA of contamination concerns.
  • Responsible for following company policies/procedures written or verbal. 
  • Performs all other tasks as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required for the Position 

  • Must be able to perform duties on GPW Training Checklist job tasks within expected training period. 
  • Must be able to follow direction and stay on task with little to no supervision.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate to colleagues and management in professional manner.
  • Must be able to read and understand the GMP operation standards, manuals, and related documentation as written. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Requires flexibility of wrists and hands, strength and sufficient mobility for walking, bending, standing, twisting, pushing/pulling, and lifting (up to 50 lbs) on regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk on concrete floor for up to eight (8) hours a day.

Training (Equipment & Methods)  

  • Job specific training will be conducted by the designated Trainer(s), managers/supervisors, colleagues, and knowledge experts.
  • Required training may include, but is not limited to, general manufacturing processes (GMP), job-safety analysis, associated lockout-tagout, ongoing quality, safety, HR and departmental training.
  • May be trained on various production/product processes, lines, equipment, and in departments.
  • Monthly training of a Safety topic and a GMP topic will be conducted by their immediate supervisor from information provided by the Safety Director and QA Manager. 

Job Safety Analysis  

  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times when on production floor and may include:  smock, hair net, ear plugs, slip resistant shoes and safety glasses, gloves, boots, aprons.
