The Real Estate and Business Development Manager is responsible for the oversight of the team driving sales, marketing, and the creation of local business into all outlets at the Scrub Island property. This position will have responsibility for all sales, catering, special events and all activities that occur on the property, including Marina Cay.Education & Experience:
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
- 5+ years of experience in hotel/resort in operations and sales roles with increasing levels of responsibility
- Proven track record of luxury real estate sales
- 10+ years leadership experience managing staff and other direct reports.
- 5+ years of hotel experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong familiarization of the local markets
- Deep understanding of all departments within a hotel
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively present information to individuals or groups
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team through a sales process and project delivery
Key responsibilities of the Real Estate Sales & Business Development Manager will include but not be limited to:
Business Development
- Building and fostering relationships with local communities, businesses, and key individuals within the BVI to drive business and awareness to the property, as well as to enhance Scrub Island’s profile in the local community.
- Building and fostering relationships with international communities, businesses, and key individuals in the USVI, Puerto Rico, and identified target locations to drive business and awareness to the property, as well as to enhance Scrub Island’s profile in the wider Caribbean and international communities.
- Working closely with the on-site General Manager and off-site Sales, Marketing, and PR teams to create and roll out business development initiatives and collateral to drive revenue and awareness.
- Working closely with the General Manager and various heads of departments to ensure a seamless experience for guests and sales prospects, as well as to drive revenue and awareness.
- Helping to foster homeowner relations (homeowner events etc.)
- Identifying strategic partners, getting them engaged in the Scrub family, fostering relationships.
- Suggesting and carrying out various on-property events to drive business and awareness.
- Staying on top of the overall market, comparable property strengths and weaknesses, latest happenings, and news etc.
- Becoming familiar with current HOA structure, responsibilities, fees etc. and assisting to streamline to make more attract to potential buyers.
- Create and foster meaningful philanthropic relationships with identified NPOs in the community.
- Assisting General Manager with a presence at important tradeshows, events, and conferences
- Assisting Marketing with on-site social media content
Real Estate Sales
- On-site sales presence at least five days a week
- On-site sales presence at events, guest receptions and cocktail hours etc. to engage with all guests and potential prospects.
- Responding to and following up with incoming real estate inquiries
- Engaging with various networks and fostering existing relationships with high-net- worth clients and possible investors
- Planning and hosting of Discovery Tours
- Organize and oversee the regular maintenance of lots to keep them in show-ready condition.
- Host open houses where appropriate
- Sales presentations to prospective buyers – both on-site and remote
- Property, villa, and condo tours
- Setting up professional real estate sales office at the appropriate time
- Assisting in the recruitment, training, and mentoring of mid-level and junior sales associates when appropriate
