Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor with a strong background in Industrial Millwright work to oversee the daily maintenance operations in our manufacturing/industrial facility. This role is responsible for leading a team of skilled trades personnel, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of equipment, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

 

Primary Duties:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team, including millwrights, electricians, and mechanics.
  • Plan, prioritize, and delegate daily work orders, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, particularly those requiring millwright expertise (e.g., mechanical installations, alignments, conveyor systems, pumps, gearboxes).
  • Lead root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
  • Monitor inventory of spare parts and tools; coordinate with procurement for reordering supplies.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance personnel, fostering technical skill development and teamwork.

 

 

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on millwright experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory or team lead experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills, with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and fabrication.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
