Akron General’s 5100 Unit is a post-op urology, gynecology/oncology and plastics unit that provides care to diverse populations of patients. This team of caregivers pride themselves on providing top-quality and patient-centered care all while ensuring the safety of their patients. As an RN, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 7:30PM, including every other weekend and holiday.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population.
Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate.
Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication and document.
Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
