Senior Scientist, Cell Therapy Discovery, T and B Cell Therapeutics

The Role:

We are seeking a motivated and creative Senior Scientist to join our team to support next-generation immune cell therapeutics discovery. The successful candidate will be driving innovation and developing a research process for novel B cell therapeutics and next generation T cell therapeutic approaches. The ideal candidate would have expertise in lab-based techniques aimed at culturing, editing and characterizing engineered human primary T and/or B cells.  This is an exciting chance to join a dynamic organization at the forefront of cell therapies, and make significant contributions toward advancing novel cell therapy approaches to help patients in need.

Here’s What You’ll Do 

• The individual will work in the laboratory and lead a team of associate scientists toward completion of program milestones, be responsible for the experimental execution and data analysis for research studies supporting cutting edge therapeutic programs and platform discovery research.
• Employ CRISPR editing technology for the genetic modification of human B and T cells.
• Develop and conduct in vitro analytical and functional bioassays for characterizing engineered B and T cells including expression and function.
• Assist in the expansion and cell banking of engineered cell lines, laboratory maintenance, generation of SOPs and other technical documents as needed

Requirements:

• PhD or Master of Science in Immunology (preferred), Biology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry, with 6+ years of hands-on experience in industry in the development of new biological therapeutics products is required.
• Direct experience with flow cytometry, primary human B and/or T cell culture and techniques to transduce and characterize primary B and/or T cells is required.
• Experience leading a project is required; managerial experience preferred.
• Experience in CRISPR-based engineering of human cells is preferred.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and technically skilled.
• Highly adaptable and responsive, and committed to completing tasks in a timely fashion.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, cross functional environment as a team player with a strong work ethic.
• Excellent team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to maintain written records in the form of electronic laboratory notebooks.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safe lab practices and BSL requirements.
• Capable of critical thinking and problem solving.
