Position Duties

The Sellinger School of Business and Management at Loyola University Maryland has an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to serve as a Program Assistant for our Accounting, Finance and Information Systems, Law and Operations Management academic departments.
The Program Assistant provides administrative support for both academic and non-academic activities within the departments providing a diverse range of administrative support while balancing multiple priorities in support of the departments, School and University goals.

Daily job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Providing confidential administrative support for faculty and students.

  • Answering phone calls and directing calls to the appropriate party while handling the routine inquiries independently.

  • Resolving or appropriately referring questions, requests, complaints, and problems.

  • Drafting routine correspondence, taking and/or transcribing minutes, collecting and preparing information for use in events and department programming, etc.

  • Organizing and maintaining electronic and other files and records.

  • Maintaining office equipment, including ordering equipment and supplies.

  • Preparing invoices to ensure timely payment, processing budget adjustments, and preparing and maintaining budgets including preparing reports.

  • Associate’s degree or vocational/technical school degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience. Experience and/or education may be substituted for requirements.

  • Ability to maintain poise and providing first-rate customer service.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and data systems.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, efficient work habits, strong organizational skills, and strong attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.

  • Strong multi-tasking and follow-up skills with ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines. Ability to produce accurate work and prioritize effectively.

  • Demonstrated experience organizing, planning, and coordinating events.

  • Ability to support the University’s goals for institutional diversity, as well as the goals and values of a Catholic, Jesuit education.
