Senior Business Developer – Investment Funds – CDI*

Based in Luxembourg, your will be part of the Business Development team which consists of 10 people and which is integrated within the Commercial Excellence Team counting more than 20 professionals.

Your responsibilities:

• Support of the firm’s lawyers & tax advisors concerning business development with a focus on Investment Funds and Banking & Finance.
• Assistance on the business development efforts related to the firmwide Investment Funds & Private Equity sector approach led from Luxembourg.
• Role on pitches: assistance / coordination in pitch procedures (organization of conference calls and meetings, monitoring deadlines, etc;), bridging projects to be able to deliver ideas quickly and appropriately, collecting and structuring standard building blocks for pitches (such as relevant experience, description of fields of expertise, scope of work, team composition and tariff structure), drafting/modifying texts in English or French based on relevant instructions provided by fee-earners, searching for and delivering relevant information regarding contacts, organisation structure, core business, market and business sector of clients, monitoring follow-up trajectory and recording the outcome;
• Drafting prospection and marketing plans for individual partners and the office;
• Carrying out market research and preparing reports and/or summaries with analyses based on company or sector information obtained from various available sources (databases, websites);
• Identifying cross-selling opportunities between practice groups and offices;
• Preparation of submissions for legal guides which the firm participates in, so as to obtain ideal positioning (ranking) and to showcase the firm’s various expertise;
• Extraction of deals and funds information from the practice groups, centralisation and communication to various external platforms (including MergerMarket, PEI, Preqin, Pitchbook, Realfin);
• Coaching/managing more junior team members, providing them with guidance and reviewing their deliverables.

Your profile:

• You have an academic background in economics/business studies or in law. A master’s degree in those fields is a clear advantage;
• You have significant relevant experience in a law firm/the legal sector or in the consulting industry; this can be as an attorney, tax advisor, consultant or business development/marketing advisor;
• You have significant experience in business development activities in an international environment;
• You have significant knowledge about Funds and Investment Management;
• You are fluent in written and spoken English and French. Additional language such as German, Luxembourgish or Dutch is an advantage;
• You have a good command of Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• You have a strong ability to analyse and summarise information;
• You are self-motivating and willing to take initiatives;
• You can communicate effectively and act as a team player;
• You are organised, flexible and able to manage several matters concurrently.
