About the role

Description

SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the administration of the finance department to include physician productivity and revenue accounting.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS


Profit and Loss Statements:

  1. Generate monthly financial statements for all departments to include physicians, advanced practice providers, ancillary services, administrative, and other profit centers.
  2. Review and distribute profit and loss reporting to physician partners.
  3. Attend meetings assisting controller with physicians/department managers to devise and implement cost allocation methods that are financially feasible for the physician/department.
  4. Generate monthly reporting for Business Development Ancillary Services.


Report/Recordkeeping:

  1. Maintain accurate records on cost allocations for the Business Development services.
  2. Prepare data for submission to MGMA and other medical reporting organizations.
  3. Generate monthly financial reports for management to align with the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
  4. Maintain records on Income Distribution plans and cost allocation methods.
  5. Maintain accounting records for PSC Realty Company and ASC Group. Generate monthly reports for Controller.
  6. Oversee and maintain accounting records for all MSO contracts. Generate monthly reports for distribution in compliance with contracts.
  7. Assist Controller in preparing year end trial balances for tax return preparation.
  8. Maintain and account for Inventory.
  9. Maintain and account for Fixed Assets and record depreciation.
  10. Prepare annual property tax returns.


Annual Budgeting:

  1. Assist Controller in developing the Annual Budget.
  2. Analyzing variations quarterly.
    Generate budget reports to distribute.
  3. Attend meetings with controller to meet with managers to discuss budgets as needed.


Service:

  1. Works collaboratively with other managers and employees to improve organizational performance.
  2. Assures staff has a timely response to service requests through the work order system.
  3. Serve on teams and tasks forces to improve organizational performance.
  4. Provide educational training to other members of the organization on areas pertaining to cash management and data interpretation.


General Administrative Duties:

  1. Project planning and execution.
  2. Implement operational improvements.
  3. Pursue personal professional development.
  4. Other projects as assigned by Controller or other members of senior management.
  5. Attend all management team meetings and departmental meetings when required.


Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
  2. Three years’ experience gained through increasingly responsible positions within the accounting field
  3. Healthcare background preferred
