What You’ll Do:
Our Canine Keepers take on varied duties that may include:
- Puppy Kindergarten Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and sanitizing play areas and kennels to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Running puppies for exercise and socialization
- Feeding and monitoring the health of growing puppies
- Providing enrichment activities and early socialization to prepare puppies for their future roles
- Assisting with general puppy care, including grooming and basic training
- General Puppy Academy Duties:
- Feeding, bathing, and medicating dogs as needed
- Assisting with whelping, neonatal care, and special veterinary cases
- Observing and documenting puppy development and behavior
- Following strict biosecurity protocols to ensure a healthy environment
- Interacting with volunteers and guests to educate and support our mission
What You’ll Learn:
- The science behind canine breeding and early puppy development
- Puppy education training with our Education Specialist
- Dog and puppy body language to better understand their needs
- Whelping, C-sections, and neonatal care techniques
Other Important Details:
- Canine Keepers are exposed to animal body fluids, medications, medical procedures, and equipment
- They frequently interact with guests and volunteers to promote awareness and education
- This position pays $15/hour
The shifts for this position are below:
- Wednesday-Saturday 9:30am-8:00pm, and a monthly overnight rotation every 7 months 7:00pm-5:30am.
- Saturday-Tuesday 9:30am-8:00pm
- Sunday-Tuesday & Friday 9:30am-8:00pm
- Sunday-Wednesday 7:00pm-5:30am

Qualifications
What You’ll Need:
- A clear understanding of general care for expecting broods, neonates, and breeders (preferred)
- Ability to follow treatment plans, administer medications, and interpret prescriptions
- Knowledge of kennel procedures and strict disease control protocols
- Physical stamina for bending, lifting, scooping, and hosing
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, overnights, and holidays
