About the role

Description

The Center for Language Education (CLE) at Johns Hopkins University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE for the 2025 Academic Year. The position is renewable based on performance and enrollment. 

The successful candidate's responsibilities include teaching 12 contact hours per week at the beginning and intermediate levels of ASL. 

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

1. M.A. in ASL or Teaching ASL (or a closely related field)
2. Previous teaching at the university level, experience working in the Deaf community, and/or certification
3. Strong computer literacy
4. Must currently be eligible to be employed in the U.S.

4. A link address such as YouTube, Google Share folder, etc., containing a video of self-introduction in English and ASL.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting.  Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.  The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
