Position Summary:

As a Bioinformatics Field Application Scientist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our customers in their genomic research projects, assisting them in maximizing the utilization of our solutions, and ensuring their success in generating meaningful insights.
As a Bioinformatics Field Application Scientist, you will serve as a subject matter expert and play a key role in building relationships with our customers in the genomic field. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, product management, and research and development, to deliver exceptional customer support and drive the adoption of our bioinformatics solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical expertise and guidance to customers in utilizing our genomic platforms and software tools. You will also contribute to the development and validation of new bioinformatics capabilities and applications.
This position partners with customers to provide technical training, troubleshooting, and complaint resolution and serve as a scientific consultant during pre- and post-sales activities and will collaborate with broader commercial team to maximize sales growth and customer satisfaction.
This position requires a deep understanding of biological data analysis, data management, and the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse stakeholders. As a Bioinformatics Field Application Scientist, it will be crucial to stay up to date with the latest advancements in bioinformatics and genomics, and to apply this knowledge to solve customer challenges. This role requires troubleshooting, communication, time management, situational awareness, poise under pressure, and collaboration. You will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships across territory Service and Support teams, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, and Quality organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate new installations, including facility inspections and instrument validation.
- Answer questions on customer lab and experimental design, workflow best practices, and data storage and analysis.
- Conduct on-site customer trainings on cornerstone Illumina microarray, Next-Generation Sequencing, library preparation, bioinformatics, consumables, or related products.
- Troubleshoot customer complaints related to biochemistry, assay or experimental design, software, instruments, or user's technical skill. Escalate to appropriate internal resources as necessary to maximize customer uptime and minimize customer effort.
- Provide advice and support to customers in the field of bioinformatics, with a focus on genomics data analysis, next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, and high-throughput data management.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their technical requirements and provide solutions to address their scientific challenges and maximize the use of bioinformatics tools and platforms. This may include providing training, troubleshooting, and on-site support.
