Applications Engineer - Global Lead

As an Applications Engineer, Global Lead at HPR, you will:

• Develop technical competence in HPR’s cutting edge product portfolio and be recognized as an expert
• Lead technical campaigns to successful completion
• Work independently as a member of a team and motivate others
• Develop and deliver training/education to customers
• Mentor and lead team members
• Negotiate success criteria with customers for critical technical campaigns
• Complete assignments without specific directions, recognize problems, and implement viable solutions
• Drive best practices and lessons learned from evaluations/benchmarks and customer interactions back to product development and other application engineers
• Participate in customer benchmark and pre-release activities
• Maintain and improve current knowledge through personal education and training
• Stay abreast of upcoming product releases as well as current and future technological trends

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or similar field
• 5+ years supporting business critical applications
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Self-motivated and committed to helping the team succeed
• Ability and initiative to complete tasks and solve problems autonomously
• Strong Linux systems administrator skills
• Experience with Python and Shell scripting
• Understanding of networking technologies and protocols (TCP, switch configuration, routing)                    
• Experience in leading and mentoring Application Engineers, encouraging our culture of continuous learning and collaboration                                              

Desired Qualifications                                                                           

• Familiarity with C and Python programming
• Understanding of FPGAs
• Project management experience
• Experience with Jira/Confluence
