Position Specific Description

We are seeking a Lead Project Manager to join our Power Delivery Team at Florida Power & Light Company (FP&L) to develop and maintain key metrics as it relates to productivity and financial analysis and to communicate recommendations and influence decisions for the Business Unit.

Power Delivery is responsible for the safe, reliable delivery of power for FP&L. Within Power Delivery, Business Services is responsible for overseeing the operating unit’s budget, monthly financial forecasting, analysis, and maintaining strong financial controls and compliance.

Candidates applying for this position should possess the following:

· Financial and project management experience

· Demonstrate ownership and can be entrusted with high priority deliverables including the ability to create and deliver presentations

· Strong analytical and collaboration skills – including but not limited to expertise in Excel, PowerPivot, PowerBI, SQL and SharePoint

· Analytical Problem Solving and Innovative thinking

· Strong communication skills (verbal and written) – candidate will work closely with multiple business partners

· General change management-supporting new initiatives -documentation, virtual/in-person training, general support, Project Management

· Ability to work on matrixed team in a fast-paced environment

· Self-motivated and self-starting individual

· Ability to operate under pressure and with multiple priorities, must demonstrate strong bias for action, follow-through, and personal leadership

· Ability to influence key stakeholders to act and partner to accomplish deliverables

Job Overview

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversees a variety of large-scale projects of high complexity
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports
  • Secures required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis
  • Identifies issues and challenges, measures and validates results, and implements solutions
  • Provides expert information to internal and external clients on complex issues
  • Creates and communicates presentation materials for report out and updates with various levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Conducts external research and stays abreast of new developments or innovative advancements pertaining to the project
  • Provides coaching, leadership and direction to project team
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 6+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
